Holiday Heatwave

We've just got back from our Easter holiday to West Sussex.  Tim couldn't get back home for the break as he is busy with his dissertation and hasn't any holidays due from Tesco either.  So we went to see him.
We took the camper and stayed about 39 miles away from Brighton in a hidden away place called Graffam in West Sussex.  It was a lovely woodland campsite - there was a nest of wren's eggs a couple of feet from our door and squirrels played all day in the surrounding trees.  There were lots of walks in all directions from the campsite - wandering along the paths at dusk almost guaranteed seeing deer on the heathland or between the trees watching us.
Not complaining but it was hot, not only for us but especially for Ben who stayed on alert throughout the eight hour drive there and all day long..........that is for the first day of course.  After that he had lots of sleeping to catch up on.  He settled well and didn't cause any problems on his first camping holiday - that means he can come again!

These are our photos in no particular order - it was a lovely relaxing break.

Tim caught a train from Brighton to Pulborough and we met him at the station - he stayed two nights with us and then we took him back to Brighton.

Jon is definitely the tallest !!!

En route back to Brighton we took the coast road and stopped off on Worthing sea front - lovely unspoilt place.  On the same day you could not see Brighton beach - I have never seen anywhere so packed tight - not an inch of beach to view, there must have been thousands all sat side by side enjoying the day.  As can be seen below, Worthing was not so popular - can't understand why.

Packing up the awning - we decided to leave early evening rather than early the next morning - spending bank holiday Monday on the M25 wasn't very appealing and we had good clear roads all the way by coming home a few hours early.
